REQUIEM FOR A TENT 


     Stucco'd with skeeters 
        and other booboo buggings 
        I threw my bailiwick into 

     the Babylon seaplane 
        a ghostly amputated flag 
        waffled atop the radio waves 

     I wasn't in the picture yet 
        sunset below my belt tagging 
        after a wino with a ruby 

     in his throat (Demosthenes 
        used rocks to polish his 
        chops) you shoulda seen 

     the chorus holigans filled 
        word balloons stuck fins 
        on helium and the next thing 

     I knew my head was 
        another kid's body 
        over the ocean
