Kenjiro Okazaki

We have every reason to believe that it is so. Ahead of it, the bundle of ice pillars
is hanging over the water. For the first time I was able to see them and heard about
three of them chirping today. They sounded like piteous and feeble moans as if a girl
was sobbing and a dog howling. It seems there are many of them around here. When
I come so close that I could step on them, they take flight. If I stay motionless, they
jump round and round restlessly and finally perch on a gray oak tree.
