Ta

for Farfisa Lisa

two alcoves in the sky
between the avocado saplings and the arches
can just afford a private view
of squirrels in peril
launched
        at fearless Italian neighbours
                on operatic balconies of storm

after evening yoga
we take our silky seats
pass the nibbles, the wine and the quibbles

interrupt the grandiloquence of the Torso
with a wealth of the day's most trivial events

then stand up and dance
back to back, sonic stax
renegade trains
ignoring the tracks
rest between acts
on pillows of affection and faith

knowing friendship spans
        exorbitant octaves
even the delicate chambers of the ear
are not small enough to hear
